  • Page 8 BARIGO E7/E7S Intended use The BARIGO E7/E7S is intended as a watch with alarm, timer and chronograph functions. Special functions are built in for hobby and leisure activities, such as an altimeter, barometer, thermometer, digital compass and a weather forecast display.

    It is not suitable for commercial areas of application. DANGER for children • Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore store your batteries and your BARIGO E7/E7S so that they cannot be reached by small children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately.
  • Page 10 • Never try to recharge batteries. Danger of explosion! • Store the batteries in a cool, dry place. Direct heat may damage the batteries. Do not expose the BARIGO E7/E7S to strong heat sources. • Do not short-circuit the battery.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference Setting the time, date and key tone The setting is made in the following order: Hours → Minutes → Seconds → Year → Month → Date → Keytone. The day of the week is set automatically.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference Setting the alarm and hour signal Your BARIGO E7/E7S can save three (daily) alarms which are independent on each other. If you have activated the hour signal, a short beep will sound each full hour. To select the alarm settings, press the S4 button to access the main menu.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference Stopwatch The stopwatch has a range of values of up to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, including the function for the split times. To select the stopwatch function, press the S4 button to access the main menu.

    BARIGO E7/E7S 3.7.1 Using the countdown timer In timer mode, press the S2 button to start the countdown timer.  When you have reached the end of the countdown, the alarm will sound for five seconds or until it is deactivated by pressing any button.

    BARIGO E7/E7S Other settings As well as the above time functions, your BARIGO E7/E7S has many other features including ALTI-BARO (altitude and atmospheric pressure measurement), UNIT (units), DUAL TIME (second time zone) and COMPASS (compass). The settings for them are adjust- ed in the SETTINGS menu.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference Barometer functions  Current (absolute) atmospheric pressure  Range of values: 300 – 1,100 hPa (8.86 – 32.48 in Hg)  Measurement cycles: the first 3 minutes = every 5 sec- onds, after 3 minutes = every 2 minutes.

This happens twice. Place the watch down on a flat surface and rotate it around its own axis at the same speed with which the marks form a circle.

    You can access the altimeter by pressing the S3 button, regardless of whether the BARIGO E7/E7S is in time-, compass- or atmospher- ic pressure mode. After the word ALTIMETER appears on the display, the watch is in altimeter mode.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference The current height is shown in the middle row of the display while the upper row displays the height difference in the previous minute (in m/ft – ft = foot). The current display row indicates the current time.
  • Page 78 BARIGO E7/E7S The altimeter display is ended automatically after 24 hours unless stopped earlier. The watch then returns to Normal mode (watch mode). IMPORTANT Your watch uses the difference in atmospheric pressure between the relative atmospheric pressure (at sea level) and the current atmospheric pressure (at your measuring point).
  • Page 79 BARIGO – Makes Difference Do not use this watch's altimeter for measurements requiring pro- fessional levels of accuracy. Also bear in mind that the cabin pressure in an aeroplane is kept constant. The altitude reading on your watch therefore does not concur with the altitude readings of the aeroplane indicated on display on by their captain.

    The measurement in the first minute is displayed as 0 m. This value is refreshed after the first minute. With the altimeter on your BARIGO E7/E7S, the distance covered per minute appears in the upper row of the display. This reading is very useful during a mountain hike if you want to maintain an even tempo during the ascent or descent.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference The measuring range for AltiSpeed lies between -300 m and +300 m. If the reading exceeds either range limit, only the maximum of - /+300m per minute is displayed. Synchronising altitude readings (1) If the displayed altitude differs from the real altitude, carry out a synchronisation as follows.

Synchronising the altitude reading means synchronising with the pressure value at sea level which serves as the basis for calculating the altitude.     If the current height is not determined and cannot be entered in your BARIGO E7/E7S, but you find the current atmospheric pressure reading at sea level for example from a weather report, you can use this figure to determine the current altitude.

    BARIGO E7/E7S However, it is not easy to find precise and up-to-date information about the atmospheric pressure at sea level. For this reason, syn- chronising this measuring value can also differ from the altitude determined in this way. You can obtain readings of the atmospheric pressure at sea level from the radio or Internet.

    BARIGO E7/E7S Saving the altitude point (POINT) This function is used to save altitude information with the date and time. This function is useful in practice for example to keep a record of the altitude point at the start of a hike and upon reaching the summit.

    BARIGO – Makes Difference The memory can save up to 50 altitude points. When saving more than 50 altitude points, the oldest ones get overwritten. Memory log (LOG) Use this function to save the altitudes along the entire hike, e.g. the minimum and maximum altitude (MIN/MAX), overall difference in height on the ascent/descent during recording.

In the time and compass mode, if you press the S1 button for the barometer, the message LOG MEMORY ACTIVE appears. After, the display returns to the mode you were in when you pressed the S1 button down.

You can change the units for the altitude (m/ft), atmospheric pressure (hPa/in Hg), temperature (°C/°F) and time- (12/24) and date formats (DD-MM/MM-DD).     Battery replacement We recommend you replace the battery if the display on the BARI- GO E7/E7S is weak or the backlighting is very hard to make out, or if the battery indicator lights up. After replacing the battery, you will need to re-set the date and time and re-calibrate the compass.
