Opening: Grasp the strap on cargo
compartment floor ;.

Lift cargo compartment floor ; with the
strap.

cargo compartment cover blind A.

Remove fastening screw :.

Remove engine compartment cover A.

Closing: Slide engine compartment cover
A forward into the tabs provided.

Tighten fastening screw :.

Disengage hook ? from top mounting

Fold cargo compartment floor ; back
down.

Push the right hand and left hand cargo
compartment floor edges under the edges
of the side panels.

Close the tailgate.
Drive system coolant

WARNING
The cooling system is pressurized.
Therefore, do not unscrew the cap before
the drive system has cooled down. Wait for
a cooling period of at least 30 minutes.
Otherwise, you could be seriously burned if
hot coolant escapes.
The drive system coolant is a mixture of
water and anticorrosion/antifreeze. To
check the drive system coolant level, the
vehicle must be parked on level ground and
the drive system must have cooled down. For
more information, see
Y
„Coolants" ( page 191).
Checking drive system coolant level
The coolant reservoir for the drive system
is located in the engine compartment.

The battery coolant reservoir is
located in the front compartment on the
driver's side.

Open the engine compartment cover

( page 99).

Allow the drive system coolant to cool
down for at least 30 minutes.

Cover pressure cap : with a rag.
X
Slowly turn pressure cap :
approximately Ö turn counterclockwise
to release any excess pressure.

Continue turning pressure cap :
counterclockwise and remove it.
The coolant level is correct if the level
for cold coolant: reaches marking bar

visible through the filling opening
for warm coolant: is approximately

0.6 in (1.5 cm) higher

If necessary, add coolant.
Adding drive system coolant

Add drive system coolant as required.
The drive system coolant level may not
exceed the maximum filling level.

Reinstall and tighten pressure cap :.

Close the engine compartment cover.
