Identifying the abnormal HDD
1. Check the ALARM indicator (D112) on the DP-455 board. (Refer to Section 1-4-2.)
. Lights in green:
Unit is operating normally. (Flashes when initializing the unit.)
. Flashes in amber:
There is one HDD that needs to be replaced. In this state, the fi lm can be shown normally.
. Lights in red:
There are two HDDs that need to be replaced. In this state, the fi lm can be shown normally for a
while. However, it will be diffi cult after a short time.

Depending on the user authorization given by SMS, it is possible to know which HDD needs to be
replaced by viewing the SMS menu window. For details of SMS, refer to the manual supplied with
SMS.
2. Remove the front panel. (Refer to Section 3-2-1.)
Check that the indicator on the upper portion of the slot is not lit (or fl ashing) in green.

IF all indicators on the upper portion of the slot are lit (or fl ashing) in green when the ALARM indi-
cator (D112) on the DP-455 board fl ashes in amber or red, a part other than the HDD unit is defective.
3. Replace the HDD whose indicator on the upper portion of the slot is turned off.

Do not replace the HDD whose indicator on the upper portion of the slot is lit (or fl ash) in amber
because it is in the process of the record reproduction.
Once all HDDs whose indicators are off are replaced, the HDD indicator fl ashing (or staying lit) in
amber turns off. Check that the indicator is turned off, and replace the corresponding HDD.
