СКРТ 25. Operation Manual
СКРТ Users are personnel having access to data in the СКРТ system. СКРТ system has the
following User grades (with ascending authority):
driver;
transportation company managers;
Installer;
Regional service centers;
Manufacturer.
Instant Fuel Consumption is fuel consumption per 100 km of travel distance. This parameter
has a very wide range from 1 l/100 km (the vehicle is coasting from a hill, the engine is
idling) to 1000 l/100 km (a heavily loaded vehicle is slowly riding in a traffic jam).
Fuel Consumption is the value of the fuel volume consumed by the Vehicle for a certain
time period. It is measured in liters (do not confuse it with the fuel consumption per hour
and Instant Fuel Consumption
Real-Time Mode (Online Mode) is the СКРТ System mode of operation in which On-
Board Reports are immediately transmitted to the Server. Real-Time Mode requires no per-
manent availability of GSM network.
Event is a comparatively rare and abrupt change of Parameters. E.g. a drastic increase of
volume of fuel in the tank is an Event called "Filling". The Event may have one or a few
characteristics. Thus, the "Filling" Event has the following characteristics: "volume of fuel at
the beginning of "Filling", "volume of fuel at the end of "Filling", "volume of "Filling", etc. As
soon as the Event is identified, the Tracker records the time of the Event which is subse-
quently specified in the Event Report. The Event is always "linked" to the time and place
where it was identified.
Service Server is hardware and software designed for processing and storage of On-Board
Reports as well as for generation and presentation of Analysis Reports via Internet. It has
its permanent Internet address..
Counter is a digital accumulation characteristic. It can only increment with time. The Coun-
ter is presented as one number, e.g. fuel consumption, the distance covered, engine hours
counter.
Tracker is an element of the vehicle tracking system performing the function of reading da-
ta from standard sensors mounted by the Manufacturer and additional sensors mounted on
the Vehicle, reception of signals of coordinates from navigation satellites and transmission
of data to the Service Server.
Access Point is an element of the Vehicle Tracking System designed to receive data from
vehicles and transmit it to the Service Server or to the Customer software. Each Access
Point is allocated a special Communications Channel.
GPRS Access Point (GPRS AP) is a computer with an assigned IP address, database and ap-
plied software. GPRS AP is the basic one for Online Tracking Device.
SMS Access Point (SMS AP) is a computer with a GSM modem (a telephone) connected to it,
a database and applied software. SMS AP is an alternate Access Point used by online Track-
ing Device in case the connection with GPRS AP is not available, e.g. while using roaming.
Vehicle is an object controlled by the Vehicle Tracking System. This is generally a truck, a
bus or a tractor, sometimes a locomotive, a ship, a utility vehicle. From the point of view of
Vehicle Tracking System, fixed equipment such as diesel generators, heating boilers, burn-
ers and so on are considered as Vehicles.
