СКРТ 25. Operation Manual
Version 3.0
Terms and Definitions
GPS is a US-made satellite geographical positioning system. Signals from GPS satellites en-
able the customer's GPS receiver to calculate its current geographical coordinates, speed
and its travel direction.
GLONASS (ГЛОНАСС) is a Russian-made navigation system. Its basic difference from the
GPS system is that the orbital rotation of GLONASS satellites is not synchronous with the
rotation of the Earth and this provides for their greater stability.
Analysis Report is information of a Vehicle or a group of Vehicles operation for the select-
ed period of time (normally a day, a week, a month). It may contain figures, tables, graphs,
a map with the Vehicle's route shown, diagrams.
Additional sensors are not standard sensors mounted on the Vehicle by the Manufacturer.
Normally these are: a fuel level sensor, a fuel consumption sensor, an axle load sensor, a
temperature sensor.
Reports Generation Interval is a setting that sets a time period for generation of this or
that Report on the Tracking Device. In СКРТ you may set different intervals for different
types of Reports. 15 sec intervals are normally used to transmit data on the actual coordi-
nates of the Vehicle and 60 sec intervals are used for Reports containing data on the Vehicle
operation.
Maps are images (vector or raster images ) used in Service Servers. Generally maps re-
ceived from Google Maps, Openstreetmap etc are used.
A Route is a data array containing the coordinates, speed and travel direction of the Vehi-
cle corresponding to the Vehicle route across a given area. The Route is usually represented
on the map as a series of dots connected with lines. Dots are often presented as arrows in-
dicating the direction.
Operational Data is the latest data received from the Vehicle including the coordinates and
basic parameters of its operation. The Operational Data is updated on the Server as soon as
the latest Operational Data is received.
Reports (On-Board Reports) are data recorded by the Tracker at certain intervals (Regu-
lar Reports) or in case of an Event (Event Reports).
Event Reports are Reports generated in case of a certain Event and contain information on
the time, Parameters and Counters related to the Event.
Parameter is a characteristic of the Vehicle varying with time (increase/decrease). E.g.
speed, volume of fuel in the tank, coordinates. A Parameter is usually presented as a graph
and average value.
Regular Reports is a type of On-Board Reports regularly generated by the Tracker, in ac-
cordance with the interval of their generation set in the Settings, e.g. every second, every
minute etc. 1 minute interval is most commonly set in vehicle tracking systems.
