THROTTLE FRICTION ADJUSTER
FAST
THROTTLE GRIP
3. Turn the throttle grip in the FAST
direction to increase the speed.
For the sake of fuel economy, open
the throttle about 80%.
FAST
To hold the throttle at a steady
setting, turn the throttle friction
adjuster clockwise. To free the
throttle grip for manual speed control,
turn the friction adjuster
counterclockwise.
OPERATION
• When cruising at full throttle, note
that the engine speed must be in the
range BF40D: between
-1
5,000 min
(rpm)
-1
and 6,000 min
(rpm), BF50D:
-1
between 5,500 min
(rpm) and
-1
6,000 min
(rpm).
• If you feel that the engine speed
jumped up when the hull jumped or
at ventilation, cruise the boat by
returning the throttle to the slow
speed side.
• See ''Propeller Selection'' (page
49) for a relation between the
propeller and the engine speed.
Do not operate without the engine
cover. Exposed moving parts could
cause injury; water may damage
the engine.
For best performance, passengers and
equipment should be distributed
evenly to balance the boat.
