• This tool is not intended for professional use
• This tool is intended for cutting ibrous and woody garden
waste for composting
• Check whether the packaging contains all parts as
illustrated in drawing 2
• When parts are missing or damaged, please contact your
dealer

4 Switch off and disconnect plug before cleaning/
maintenance or if (extension) cord is damaged or
entangled

while tool is running

debris (keep bystanders a safe distance away from work

complete standstill before touching them

GENERAL
• This tool is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the tool by a person responsible for
their safety
• Ensure that children do not play with the tool
• Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the tool
• Never allow children or people who are not familiar with
the operating instructions to use the tool (local
regulations can restrict the age of the operator)
• Never operate the tool in the direct vicinity of persons;
stop using the tool when persons (especially children) or
pets are nearby
• The user is responsible for accidents or hazards
occurring to other people or their property
• Keep all guards and delectors in place and in good
working condition
• Always switch of the tool, allow the cutting blade to stop
and disconnect the plug
- whenever leaving the tool unattended
- before clearing jammed material
- before checking, cleaning or working on the tool
! before mounting or removing the collection bag
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the
voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool
• Inspect the cord periodically and have it replaced by a
qualiied person, if damaged
• Inspect the extension cord periodically and replace it, if
damaged (inadequate extension cords can be
dangerous)
• When operating the tool use a residual current device
(RCD) with a triggering current of 30 mA maximum
• Only use an extension cord of types H05VV-F or
H05RN-F which is intended for outdoor use and
equipped with a watertight plug and coupling-socket
• Always switch of tool and disconnect plug from power
source if the power supply cord or the extension cord is
cut, damaged or entangled (do not touch the cord
before disconnecting the plug)
• A damaged power cord shall be replaced at a SKIL
service centre only in order to avoid a hazard
• Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords with a
capacity of 16 Amps (U.K. 13 Amps)
• Protect the (extension) cord from heat, oil and sharp
edges
• Do not run over, crush or pull the (extension) cord
• Only use extension cords with a maximum length of 20
metres (1,5 mm²) or 50 metres (2,5 mm²)
PERSONAL SAFETY
• Do not operate the tool when barefoot or wearing open
sandals; always wear sturdy shoes and long trousers
• Avoid wearing loose-itting clothing that is loose-itting,
hanging cords or ties
• Only operate the tool in open space (not too close to a
wall or other solid objects) and on a irm, level surface
