3.7.2 Port Forwarding

If computers are connected to the router to form a LAN and access the internet through the router,
internet users cannot access the servers built on the hosts on the LAN, such as web servers, email
servers, and FTP servers. To enable internet users to access a LAN server, enable the port forwarding
function of the router, and map one service port to the IP address of the LAN server. This enables the
router to forward the requests arriving at the port from the internet to the LAN server.
To configure the virtual server function, choose Advanced > Port Forwarding.
