Charging door will not open
1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
May 14, 2025
The charging door on a 2018 Tesla may not open due to the following reasons:
1. Charge port door sensor fault – A malfunctioning sensor may prevent the door from operating correctly or sensing its position. 2. Electrical or communication issue – If the charging station or cable is not powered or not communicating properly, it may affect door operation. 3. Door latch frozen – In cold weather, the latch may freeze, preventing the door from opening. 4. Inactivity timeout – If the charge cable is not inserted shortly after opening the door, it may close automatically.
Try reopening the door using the touchscreen, mobile app, key fob, or charge handle button. If the problem persists, inspect for sensor faults or frozen components.

Do you have a question about the 3 2018 and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
Charging door will not open
