Advanced panel: This panel allows the user to change the
backside cache speed and to adjust the status of speculative
processing. The selections in this dialog box are immediate.

Changing the Backside Cache speed
• Selecting the "Manual" setting allows the user to
select any available speed, possibly including speeds
faster than those selected by "Automatic". Speeds
selected manually will remain in effect until changed.
• Selecting the "Automatic" setting will cause the cache
to run at the safest working speed.

Speculative Processing settings
The "Disable" selection provides advanced compatibility for
PCI based systems. It defaults to the primary compatibility
mode (disable Speculative Processing):
• This default setting also loads Virtual Firmware and
additional compatibility software.
• Selecting the "Enable" button, removes Virtual
Firmware, and operates the PCI PowerMac without
any compatibility enhancements.
