V AI.B Semi-Auto Shooting
For an overview of AI.B (AI bounce flash) semi-auto mode, see page 45.
AI.B semi-auto shooting can be performed with all the EOS cameras.
Before performing AI.B semi-auto shooting, review the "Safety
Precautions" (p.8), "General Cautions for AI.B Full-Auto Shooting and
AI.B Semi-Auto Shooting" (p.60), and the like.

Set the <X> switch to the <Y>

position

With the Speedlite attached to the
camera, check that both the camera
and the Speedlite are turned on.
Set the <X> bounce mode switch
to the <Y> position.
When the flash head is not in the
forward-facing position, the flash
head moves and is automatically set
to the forward-facing position.
Set the bounce angle as desired.

Determine the orientation (position) of
the camera when taking a picture,
and then perform steps 2 and 3.
Taking into consideration factors such
as the distance to the subject and the
distance to the ceiling, manually
move the flash head and set the
bounce angle.
The Speedlite icon on the LCD panel
changes to <m>.
