Function
Jitter check
Jitter rate is measured and displayed.
Measurement is repeatedly done in
the cycle of one second. Read error
counter starts from zero upon mode
setting. When target block data failed
to be read out, the counter advances
by one increment. When the failure is
caused by minor error, it may be
corrected when retried to enable
successful reading. In this case, the
counter advances by one. When the
error persists even after retry, the
counter may jump by two or more.
Error code check
The latest error code stored in
FLASHROM is displayed.
Initial setting of laser drive current
Initial current value for each of DVD
laser and CD laser is seperately
saved in FLASHROM.
DVD laser drive current measurement
DVD laser drive current is measured
and the result is displayed together
with the initial value stored in
FLASHROM. Because the initial
current value is necessary when
displaying, an error may occur if no
value stored.
CD laser drive current measurement
CD laser drive current is measured
and the result is displayed together
with the initial value stored in
FLASHROM.
