The S3500's capabilities can be expanded with the addition of an uplink module. The S3500 uplink module
provides SFP and SFP+ uplink ports to connect to other devices.
Minimum Software Requirements
The uplink module requires ArubaOS 7.0.2 or later.

Device Overview

The S3500 plink modules may be hot swapped without damaging the module or S3500 chassis but requires a
reboot of the chassis to initialize the module. Similarly, removing an uplink on a live switch is service
affecting and all traffic processing will stop until the replacement uplink module is installed and operating.
The Uplink Module and optics are not shipped with the S3500 and must be purchased separately.
