Replacing the Wi-Fi card

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1 .
Notes: :
• The Wi-Fi card comes in two sizes, refer to the figure that matches your Wi-Fi card when reading this
section.
• The locations of Wi-Fi antenna connectors might vary.
To replace the Wi-Fi card, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 48.
3. If a PCI-Express card is available, remove the PCI-Express card. See "Replacing a PCI Express card"
on page 66.
4. Locate the M.2 Wi-Fi card slot. See "Parts on the system board" on page 33.
5. Disconnect the Wi-Fi antenna cables from the Wi-Fi card, and then remove the screw that secures the
Wi-Fi card.

6. Pull the Wi-Fi card out of the M.2 Wi-Fi card slot.
