    Chapter 1Introduction Welcome to the HomePortal The HomePortal securely delivers rich content from the Internet through a broadband connection and distributes it to multiple simultaneous users within the home. This means that you can share one high-speed Internet connection with all of your computers simultaneously.

But before you start sending print jobs to the printer in the other room or start playing network games with your family, you need to tell your computer that it is connected to a network by installing the HomePortal software.

If you need to “host” an application server in your home, you may designate one computer in your home as the host computer for that application, allowing data specifically associated with that application to pass through to that computer.
