    Optional equipment is available for ROWE Scan 600. By default, ROWE Scan 600 scanners include ROWE ScanManager LT. The latter allows "Scan to file" (scanning and storing of scan in one file). Optionally, versions with enhanced features are available. An overview of the available models is given in Table 1.1.

    1.2 ROWE Scan 600 Models The basic model ROWE Scan 600-20 features a maximum scan width of 44“. The maximum document width which can be transported through the scanner is 47" while the maximum document thickness is 1.5 mm. Optionally, the basic model can be upgraded with a higher scan speed and a color scan module.
  • Page 10 Scan width up to 60" In order to be able to scan originals with a width exceeding 44", ROWE Scan 600 is also available in a wider design. By default, the maximum scan width then is 55" and can be extended to 60".

When unpacking the scanner, do not lift it by grabbing the side boxes (see Figure 1.4).

    2 Installation In this chapter, you learn how to install the software on a PC to operate the scanner. The PC shall comply with the minimum requirements mentioned in Chapter 1.5. However, the optimum requirements indicated there are recommended. When starting installation, the scanner must neither be connected to power supply nor PC.

    As an option, you can also contact ROWE Service Department (see Page 9). By default, the ROWE Scan 600 is fitted with a 30-day trial license for ScanManager SE. This is why you can press "Next" immediately – unless you purchased additional license options.

    In order to render your work as easy as possible, the control elements of ScanManager are divided into so-called functions so that only the required functions are available. By selecting one of the buttons in the top line of ScanManager you can switch between different functions.

    The Main Viewer serves to display the document scanned last and / or a loaded image file. Numerous zoom functions allow zooming of individual areas. For this purpose, you can highlight an area within the displayed image by pressing and holding the left mouse key down.

The following scan is effected in the mode set here. Color scans are only possible if the license option "Color" is available. If you effected a grayscale and / or black/white scan and switch to color later, the image is, however, displayed in gray scale in the Viewer.

Resolution: Selection of the resolution to be used for the next scanning operation. The selection has to be made before the scan. In case of the available "Turbo modes", a lower scanning resolution is used in feeding direction and afterwards interpolation is effected.
