3.5 SECONDARY MODE SELECTOR AND GAIN CONTROLS

BCN GAIN
The Beacon Gain is a rotary potentiometer that controls the
gain of the Beacon receiver.
SRCH GAIN
The Search Gain is a rotary potentiometer that controls
the gain of the Search receiver.
CODE
Pressing this switch selects Beacon Codes in a sequential
cyclic fashion (i.e., Code 0, Code 1, Code 2, . . . Code 15
or Code 0, Code 1, Code 2, . . . Code 9) depending on
Beacon Mode selected. The selected code is annunciated
on the MFD.
When DO-172 Beacon (Beacon Mode B) is selected via
the BCN button, the total of sixteen codes (0-15) can be
selected by the Code switch. Selecting a Standard two-
pulse Beacon (Beacon Mode A) via the BCN button, the
total of ten codes (0-9) can be selected by the Code
button. The Code button is not active unless the Beacon
mode has been selected.
