Setting the Ti me and Date
When you tum on your camera for the fi rst ti me, you w i Il need to
set the time and date as follows:

Press the MENU button to d isplay the
playback menu .

Usi ng the zoom buttons, highlight SET UP
and press the shutter-release button.

ln the SET UP menu, use the zoom
buttons t o highlight DATE and press the
shutter-release button to d isplaythe DA TE
menu.

lfthe menu does not appear when you press the MENU button, press the
MONITOR button until the LCD monitor comes on. Items can be
highlighted using the zoom buttons and selected using the shutter-release
button. To clear a menu from the screen, highlight BK and press the
shutter-release button, or press the MENU button until the menu disap-

item you w ish to change, then edit the
item using the zoom-in button

to decrease its value. After ed it-
ing, rotate the command d ia l to move to
the next item or press the shutter-re lease
button. Highlight Y M D a nd use the
zoom buttons to cha nge the order in
w hich the year, mo nth, and day are d is-
p layed. Pressing the shutter-release but-
to n w hen this item is highlighted sets the
time and date to the specified values.
If the date has not be en set, a flashing clock
icon w ill appear at upper right in the LC D
monitorwhen the mode di al is set to A-REC
or M-REC. Photographs taken w hen this
icon appears w ill have a ti me stamp o f "99/
0 1/0 1 00:00"; set the ti me and date as
described above before shooting.

The clock-calendar is powered by a separate, rechargeable battery, which
is charged as necessarywhen the main batteries are installed. lfthe camera
has been stored with the main batteries removed for a long period of ti me,
the dock may need to be reset. Once the main batteries have been
reinserted, the clock battery will recharge in several hours, during which
time the batteries should be left in the camera.
