The Taxitronic Skyglass TX80 may be lit up but not functioning due to several possible reasons:
1. Power Supply Issue – The device requires a nominal 12V power supply (with a minimum of 10V and a maximum of 30V). If the voltage is incorrect or unstable, the device may receive power but not operate correctly. 2. Sealing Restrictions – If the sealing mechanisms (e.g., Seal Nº3 on TX80 or Seal Nº1 on Skyglass) are improperly placed or tampered with, access to the electronic board may be restricted, preventing proper functionality. 3. Faulty Connections – Incorrect wiring or loose connections, especially in the impulse generator, serial port, CAN accessories, or Skyglass connector, may cause the device to receive power but not function as expected. 4. Impulse Generator Issue – If the impulse generator is not correctly connected or configured, the taximeter may not register vehicle movement or signals properly. 5. Software or Configuration Error – The taximeter may require proper setup or initialization, and if not configured correctly, it may remain powered but unresponsive.
Checking these factors can help diagnose and resolve the issue.
