Appendix E – Verifying BCOM-USB Operation
BCOM-USB Connection And Driver Testing
Connect the BCOM-USB device to the Windows machine using the USB cable
Check power light on BCOM-USB box
– Confirms connection to a good USB port on your computer with sufficient power
– To reset the BCOM-USB box, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable
– When connected to a USB Hub, use externally powered USB Hub
Windows recognizes BCOM-USB device
– Open the 'Device Manager'
– Two ASE BCOM-USB Ports (COMx) should appear in Ports group

Yellow warning flag(s) at left of ASE device means the drivers are not installed
– Install the BCOM-USB drivers
– Repair BCOM-USB driver installation using 'Update Driver'
Yellow warning flag near 'Unknown Device' means USB communication failure
– BCOM-USB device not recognized; try another USB port
– Use USB 2.0 port if USB 3.0 (super speed) port fails (some machines only)
