Operating safety
Always read the chapter "Operating safety"
as well as the operator's manual. You could
otherwise fail to recognize dangers, e. g.
due to high-voltage.
Danger of electric shock
The components of the drive system are
indicated by yellow warning labels to make
you aware of high voltage.
High‑voltage cables are orange‑colored.
G
DANGER
The vehicle's high voltage electrical sys-
tem is under high voltage. If you modify
components in the vehicle's high-voltage
electrical system or touch damaged compo-
nents, you may be electrocuted. The compo-
nents in the vehicle's high-voltage elec-
trical system may be damaged in an acci-
dent, although the damage is not visible.
There is a risk of fatal injury.
Following an accident, do not touch any
high-voltage components and never modify
the vehicle's high-voltage electrical sys-
tem. Have the vehicle towed away after an
accident and the vehicle's high-voltage
electrical system checked by a qualified
specialist workshop.
Only specially trained technicians may
carry out work on the vehicle. If orange
electric cables or their connectors are

damaged, have them replaced immediately
at a qualified specialist workshop. We rec-
ommend that you use a smart service part-
ner which is qualified for smart electric
drive for this purpose.
Automatic switch‑off of the high-volt-
age system
The high-voltage system will be automati-
cally switched off, in the event
of an accident in which the restraint
R
systems are triggered
of a short circuit in the high-voltage
R
system is detected
that an electric connection in the high-
R
voltage system has been disconnected.
This helps to avoid that you get in contact
with high-voltage.
Performing work on the vehicle
G
WARNING
Modifications to electronic components,
their software as well as wiring can impair
their function and/or the function of other
networked components. In particular, sys-
tems relevant to safety could also be
affected. As a result, these may no longer
function as intended and/or jeopardize the
operating safety of the vehicle. There is an
increased risk of an accident and injury.
Never tamper with the wiring as well as
electronic components or their software.
You should have all work to electrical and
electronic equipment carried out at a
qualified specialist workshop.
i
Read the information on qualified spe-
cialist workshops in the operator's man-
ual. Work carried out incorrectly on the
high-voltage system or modifications
made to your vehicle could cause the sys-
tems of your vehicle to cease functioning
properly.
Please make sure you read the technical documentation, such
as the Operator's Manual and workshop information, before
carrying out any maintenance work.
