Upgrade Options

The following upgrade options can be installed in the printer.
2nd Feeder (KX-PMF3)
Additional cassette can be used by installing this option. Refer to the installation
manual included in the option's carton to install it.
Upgrade Kit (KX-PPSU5) - for PostScript
Printing for PostScript is available from Windows®*
option. To install it, see instructions.
RAM Board: 16 MB (KX-PEM12) or 32 MB (KX-PEM13)
Enables to increase the printer's memory. To install it, see the following instructions.

Installing the Upgrade Kit (for PostScript) or RAM Board

CAUTION
• To prevent static electricity damage to the printer or optional board,
- Do not touch the connector of the printer board.
- Touch the printer's bare metal frame often to discharge static electricity from your
body.
- Handle the circuit board only by the edges.
- Do not lay board on a metal surface.
• To prevent damage to the optional board, avoid exposing the optional board to direct
sunlight, high temperatures or humidity.

Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord and disconnect any cables
connected to the connectors on the back of the printer.
