A2 What to use : RIP Settings or Custom Paper xx ?
Each time you load a media Roll, the printer will prompt a message to select the media Type. You have 2 possibilities:
choosing RIP settings or .select a Custom Paper xx.
● By choosing RIP settings, you decide to manage all media settings and quality settings FROM the RIP. The image
and media settings previously set in the RIP software will be sent to the printer.
● By choosing a Custom Paper xx, you decide that the printer manages all media settings. The RIP will send only
the print job and the resolution chosen in the RIP software.
STEP B
Customizing [RIP Settings]
Note : [RIP Settings] will apply all the following settings for any type of media loaded and used
B1. Platen Gap
RIP Settings :
● Platen Gap (1,5, 2, 2,5)
● Head Alignment
● Roll Type (Side In, Side Out)
● Tension Measurement
● Media Tension
The platen gap is the gap between the print head surface and the media and not the Media and the print head.
Depending on the media thickness, set the correct platen gap to avoid head strike. On SC‐S30600/610, you can set
the gap from 1.5 (std value) to 2.5. For all media, the platen gap will have an important effect on print quality.
Tips
: If you wish to optimise the output quality, try to use other platen gap settings.
