    Introd uction The print ser ver is a va ilable for TCP/ IP printing by Unix LPD ( Line Pr inter D ae mon) protocol. The LPD protocol originated w ith Unix r elease is ba sed on the B SD ve r sion of Un ix and supported under mo st versions of Unix.
