Automatic power saving function

This unit will enter sleep mode automatically when 15 minutes
pass without digital or analog audio input.
Automatic power saving will not function when an iPod/iPhone/
iPad (powered on) is connected to the iPod/iPhone/iPad connector
or a computer (powered on) is connected to the PC connector.
NOTE
To end sleep mode, turn the power/volume knob counterclock-
wise until the unit is turned off.

CAUTION
o Always minimize the volume before plugging head-
phones in and putting them on. While wearing
headphones, do not connect or disconnect them or
turn the unit on or off. Doing so could result in a sud-
den loud noise that could harm your hearing.
o Be careful not to mistake the headphones jack for
the digital output jack and vice versa. Doing so could
result in odd noises and even damage to connected
equipment.

Use this to input digital and analog audio.
o Use the OPT COAX/LINE INPUT switch on the side of
the unit to enable digital or analog input.
For digital input
Optical connection: Use a commercially-available optical
cable with a mini plug.
Coaxial connection: Use the included RCA conversion
cable.

For analog input
Use a commercially-available cable with a 3.5mm stereo
mini plug.

Power indicator

This lights when the unit is on.
This blinks when the unit is on, and the battery charge
is low.

Power/volume knob
Turn this counterclockwise until it stops to turn the
unit off.
Use this to adjust the volume. Turn this clockwise to turn
the unit on. Keep turning it clockwise to increase the vol-
ume. Turn it counterclockwise to decrease the volume.

GAIN switch
Use this to change the output level to suit the head-
phones that you are using.
H: high output level
L: low output level
Lower the volume before setting this switch to H.
CAUTION
Particularly when using headphones for the first time
with this unit, set the GAIN switch to L and be sure to
raise the volume gradually during playback to check the
sound pressure sensitivity.
