Removal and replacement procedures Required tools No tools are required. Safety considerations Before performing service procedures, review all the safety information. Preventing electrostatic discharge To prevent damaging the system, be aware of the precautions you must follow when setting up the system or handling parts.
This symbol indicates that the component exceeds the recommended weight for one individual to handle safely. WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the equipment, 10.0 kg observe local occupational health and safety requirements and guidelines for manual 22.0 lb material handling.
Open the drive drawer by pressing the drive drawer handle release latch and pulling the drive drawer handle until the drawer is fully extended. Label the drive bay locations for each drive. Remove all of the drives and I/O adapters. Close the drive drawer until it clicks in the closed position, and then close the drive drawer handle.

Install the I/O adapter from the D3940 storage module you are replacing. Close the drive drawer until it clicks in the closed position, and then close the drive drawer handle. Access OneView and accept the D3940 Storage Module.
Click Yes, replace. Monitor the task progress to verify that it is complete. Open the drive drawer by pressing the drive drawer handle release latch and pulling the drive drawer handle until the drawer is fully extended. Install drives back into the same bay position starting from the rear of the drive drawer (highest bay number) first.

In OneView, view the SAS Logical Interconnect page for alerts. Re-apply the configuration if necessary. After re-applying the configuration, the Logical JBOD and server profiles might appear to fail.
