    MASTER VOLUME CONTROL: Push the (VOLUME) adjustment wheel right to increase the overall STAGEPERFORMER500 volume and left to reduce it. BRILLIANCE: Push the (BRILLIANCE) adjustment wheel right to increase the brilliance and left to reduce it.

    VOICES AND EFFECTS: The following pages entail an detailed set of instructions on how to set up voices and effects on your STAGEPERFORMER500 keyboard. There are 559 voices in total (see appendix). SELECTING A VOICE: Press the (VOICE) button to enter the voice mode. The default voice is Voice R1 (001) - this will be displayed on the LCD screen.

    VOICES AND EFFECTS: DSP (DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING) EFFECT: This function measures and imitates the output signal of a musical instrument played in a realistic environment. You can adjust the value of DSP by pressing the (DSP) button. You can adjust either chorus or reverb levels via this function.

    STYLE CONTROL: STYLE CONTROL: SELECTING A STYLE: To select a style press the (STYLE) button and use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to set a style. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut buttons. Each button has 2 presets, press the button once for the preset displayed at the top on the panel artwork and twice for the bottom.

    STYLE CONTROL: START A STYLE: START/ STOP 1. Select style you want to play and press the (START/STOP) button to start the style. FINGERED FULLRANGE 2. CHORD MODE: START/ SYNC SYNC INTRO/ CHORD FADE STOP STOP START ENDING MODE Press the (CHORD MODE) button to enter the fingered mode (the LED will light up).

    STYLE CONTROL: FILL IN A/B: - In MAIN mode, press the (A) button to insert a fill. The fill will return to the MAIN section when finished. - In MAIN mode, press the (B) button to insert a fill. The VARIATION mode will then be started.

    STYLE CONTROL: FADE 1. FADE IN: START/ SYNC SYNC INTRO/ CHORD To fade in press the (FADE) button whilst the style is stopped. FADE STOP STOP START ENDING MODE The style will fade in from zero volume to full. 2. FADE OUT: To fade out press the (FADE) button whilst the style is playing.

    STYLE CONTROL: CHORDS CHORD RECOGNITION: Once a style is selected, you can use the chord mode to alter a chord of the style in the accompaniment range. There are two methods of creating chords; single & multi finger chords. SINGLE FINGER CHORDS: This method allows you to play chords easily within the accompaniment range using one, two or three fingers.

    STYLE CONTROL: CHORDS CHORDS (A QUICK BASIC GUIDE): The most basic kind of chord is the “triad” consisting of three notes: the root, third and fifth degrees of the corresponding scale. For example the “C major triad” is made up of the notes C (the root), E (the third note in the C major scale) and G (the fifth note in the C major scale).

    FUNCTION MENU: Press either the (FUNCTION/NEXT) or (FUNCTION/BACK) buttons to enter the function menu, The menu will memorise your last option. Use the (FUNCTION) buttons to select an option and use the (YES/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to set the parameter. The options and parameters are as follows.

    FUNCTION MENU: REVERB LEVEL This function sets the reverb level. The LCD displays the reverb level value, use the (YES/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to set the parameter. The parameter ranges from 0 to 127 in reverb volume. CHORUS LEVEL: This function sets the chorus level. The LCD displays the chorus level value, use the (YES/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to set the parameter.

    MEMORY: The memory feature can be used to preset 48 complete control-panel set-ups which could be called upon whenever needed. BANK: There are 8 banks in total, each bank has 6 memories (M1 - M6) Press the (BANK) button, the LCD displays “00x Mem Bank”, with 00x showing the Bank that has been selected.

    RECORD: 3 user songs can be recorded in the piano with 6 tracks (1 ACCOMP track and 5 MELODY tracks). The recorded data will not be lost when powering off the keyboard. To delete the record data press the (RECORD) and (PLAY/STOP) buttons simultaneously. RECORD SONG: Press the (RECORD) button for the first time to enter the user song selected mode.

    RECORD: DELETE SONG: Press the (PLAY/STOP) button to enter the user song selected mode. Press the (+/YES) and (-/NO) buttons to select the user song you want to delete. Press (RECORD) button, LCD will display “DelUser”. Press (+/YES) to delete the current user song. When deleted the LCD displays “OK!”, The cursor of the track will darken simultaneously.

    STYLE RECORD: START STYLE RECORD: There are 3 user styles that you can record on: 201, 202 and 203. 1. Press the (STYLE RECORD) button. The LCD will display the current user style. 2. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons and (DIAL) to select the others between 1 and 3.

    STYLE RECORD: RECORD A NEW STYLE: 1. Select record in the style record menu (level 1) 2. Press the (FUNCTION/NEXT) button to enter the record menu. The LCD will display “Overdub”. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select a recording mode (overdub or replace).

    STYLE RECORD: COPY A STYLE: 1. First select an empty user style space. Press the (FUNCTION/NEXT) button to enter the choice menu. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select “COPY” 2. Press the (FUNCTION/NEXT) button to enter the rhythm selection menu.

    STYLE RECORD: QUANTIFY A STYLE (CONTINUED): 3. Press (FUNCTION/NEXT) to enter the chapter menu. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select the chapter of rhythm: Main_A, Main_B, Intro_M, Intro_m, FIll_A, Fill_B, Ending_M and Ending_m. 4. Press (FUNCTION/NEXT) to enter the track menu. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select the track: Rhythm sub, rhythm main, bass, chord 1, chord 2, chord 3, phrase 1 and phrase 2.

    STYLE RECORD: DELETE A STYLE: 1. Select the user style that needs to be deleted. Press (FUNCTION/ NEXT) to enter the menu. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to choose “Delete”. 2 Press the (FUNCTION/NEXT) button to enter chapter selection. Use the (+/YES) or (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select the chapter that needs to be deleted.

    SONG: There are 100 songs in total: 57 songs with left and right melody parts, 33 style songs and 10 piano songs. 1. START/STOP the song: Press the (SONG) button to enter the song mode. The song flag on the LCD will light up.

    SONG: LESSON MODE LESSON 1: PRACTICE TIMING: Press the (LESSON) button to enter the lesson mode, the lesson 1 flag will light. Evaluation is based on accuracy of playing the notes on time. Hitting the right notes is not taken into account when practising timing.

    CHORD DICTIONARY: Chord dictionary is essentially a built-in “chord-book” that shows you the individual notes of chords. It is ideal when you know the name of a certain chord and want to quickly learn how to play it. All the key name labels are displayed above the keyboard keys. 1.

    PEDALS: FOOTSWITCH: You can assign the pedal in the function menu (see function). There are 4 pedal assignments: Pedal Soft, Pedal Sostenuto, Pedal Memory Select and Pedal Start/Stop VOLUME PEDAL: You can set up the volume pedal to control the volume by plugging it into the input located on the back of the keyboard. SD FUNCTION: There is a standard SD external interface which supports cards of 16MB - 2GB capacity.

    SD FUNCTION: PLAY (CONTINUED): Use the (+/YES) and (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select the desired file or directory. Then press (START/STOP) to play the file in a loop. To play all files on the SD circularly, press (EXECUTE) when in the (SD) menu.

    SD FUNCTION: Press (FUNCTION/NEXT) to confirm the selected style , a storage menu will appear and you must choose where you want to save the file. Use the (+/YES) and (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to navigate the memory bank for storing. Press the (FUNCTION/NEXT) button again to confirm the load (“Load?”...

    SD FUNCTION: 2. SAVE STYLE: Select “SaveSty” from the menu then press (FUNCTION/NEXT) to enter the directory. Use the (+/YES) and (-/NO) buttons or (DIAL) to select a desired style from the keyboard. Press (FUNCTION/NEXT) to confirm the selected style ,the SD directory will appear and you must choose where you want to save the file.
