Circuit Description

3-1. Outline

The main functions of each board are as described below.
D3 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-2.)
The D3 board has the interfaces of DVI and HD15 connectors. It controls a scaler from a microcomputer
together with the signal from the V board, processes a video signal, and outputs data to the display panel.
Also, the selected input audio signal outputs from RCA.
Additionally, the D3 board has an RS-232C connector that can control this unit from the outside and a
CONTROL-S (IN/OUT) terminal that can operate multiple sets using one remote controller.
V1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-3.)
The V1 board interfaces with an option board. It digitally processes a video signal and sends the video
signal to the D3 board.
H1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-4.)
The H1 board is a user interface board. It has POWER, INPUT, MENU, UP, DOWN, and ENTER keys.
H2 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-5.)
The H2 board is a LED board used for making the logo of Sony bright.
H3 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-6.)
The H3 board has the photosensing block of remote commander and two-color LED that indicate the state
of this unit.
K1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-7.)
The K1 board is an audio signal processing board. It has a surround processor IC and power amplifier IC.
SP board (For detail, refer to Section 3-8.)
The SP board has a speaker output terminal for the audio output signal from the K1 board.
S board (For detail, refer to Section 3-9.)
The S board is a temperature sensor board that detects the temperature in this unit.
FA1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-10.)
The FA1 board is a board used for driving a fan that lowers the temperature in this unit.
JT1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-11.)
The JT1 board is a relay board used for connecting option slot 2 and a V1 board.
F1 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-12.)
The F1 board is a power supply board that has an AC filter and STBY power block. STBY 5 V and
STBY 3.3 V are output from the STBY power block.
G3 board (For detail, refer to Section 3-13.)
The G3 board is a power supply board that has a PFC converter, main converter, and DC-DC converter.
STBY 5 V and STBY 3.3 V are output from a STBY power block. For the output voltage of a main
converter, 10.5 V, A5 V, D5 V, A3.3 V, and D3.3 V are output from a DC-DC converter of 17.5 V, +13
V, and _13 V.
