Test
A test must be carried out during commissioning and periodi-
cally every 36 months at the latest!
This test includes a complete function test and can be carried
out with the motor turned on or off.
The following three test phases (see table) are obligatory:
• LED test
• Current detection test for all three phases
• Motor protection test switch-off, during which the complete con-
trol chain with the swicthing elements and the
OVERLOAD / FAILURE contact is tested.
Press the RESET / TEST button in fault-free condition to
activate the test.

pressed.
The motor protection test switch-off can be reset by once again
pressing the RESET / TEST button briefly.
NOTICE
The test must be carried out by qualified personnel familiar
with the standards stated.
Further safety instructions
WARNING
!
The 3RW40 is not suitable for set up in Ex areas. The device
can only be used in a switchgear cabinet with degree of pro-
tection IP4x. Appropriate measures have to be implemented
when set up in hazardous areas (e.g. encapsulation).
Repairs
WARNING
!
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer or by
authorized workshops.
