4-1. General
The Diagnostics for Service are all supplied with floppy disks.
The Diagnostic Programs for Service are all supplied with 3.5 inch
floppy disks. The Diag for Service uses the PC-Doctor and it can
test the mother board, CPU, memory, PCI bus, USB port, and COM
port. After it started, it performs respective tests automatically.
The Memory Stick, LCD, PC card, LAN and Tablet (PCV-LX910)
can also be tested by using exclusive diagnostic FD.
It does not support the PCI board (modem, MPEG board).
4-2. Starting Method
To start the Diag for Service, set the starting disk (PC-Doctor) to
the FDD, and start the main unit. After the test programs started,
the tests will be carried out automatically.
4-3. Test Result
After the test completed, "PASS (green screen)" or "FAIL (red
screen)" will be displayed. The test results are all recorded in the
log file "E: \LOG\PRE.LOG". If "FAIL" is displayed, refer to the
log file to find out faulty part.
4-4. Memory Stick Test
Note: This test requires one sheet of Memory Stick.
Set the Memory Stick test disk (Memory Stick Diagnostic) to the
FDD, and start the main unit. After the diagnostic program started,
the test is carried out in the interactive mode.
This program reads a boot block of the Memory Stick.
The test will end successfully, if boot block can be read.
The test will end unsuccessfully, if boot block cannot be read.
After the test completed, a log file is made
(file name: coraltst.log).

1. Start the Windows.
2. Insert the LCD test disk (CLD Diagnostic (Main)).
3. [Start] → [Run], enter "A: LCD" and press OK. The LCD test
