This Operation Manual describes principles of functioning,
proper use, maintenance and service for the wireless receiver
Astra-RVC (Figure 1).
The manufacturer reserves the right to make improvements in
the design of the device without prior notice. The alterations
shall be included into a new edition of the Operation Manual.
List of abbreviations used in this Operation Manual
WAS – wireless alarm system Astra-R;
RVC – wireless receiver Astra-RVC;
TRC – wireless transmitter Astra-TRC, Astra-TRC version M
and/or Astra-TRC bracelet;
IP – indication panel Astra-931;
CP –Astra-712/Х Control Panel or similar.
1 Function
1.1 RVC (receiver) is a stationary device
designed for:
receiving signals from TRC via a radio
channel, decoding and identification of the
signal received,
generation of notifications by actuating a
built-in relay,
transmission of TRC number to the indi-
cation panel Astra-931 via serial interface.
1.2 The receiver registers up to 99 TRCs
and saves this information when powered
off.
1.3 The receiver is provided with one power relay.
1.4 The receiver is powered from the external redundant power
supply unit Astra-712/0 or similar one.
1.5 The manufacturer guarantees a minimum communication
range of 150m between the receiver and Astra-TRC (Astra-
TRC version M) in line of sight, and minimum 50 m between
the receiver and Astra-TRC bracelet in the area with dry
ground in the absence of strong radio interference, and objects
interfering with and reflecting radio waves. The communication
range can be cut down (to 30-60 m) inside concrete buildings
and in presence of radio interference.

4 Structure
RVC is designed as a unit consisting of a base, a removable
cover and an antenna. There is a printed circuit board with
radio elements inside the unit (Figure 2).
The printed circuit board contains a terminal block:
OUT is input/output of the serial interface;
ТМP is a pair of terminals connected to the button contacts
which are closed if the front cover of the receiver is closed and
opened when the cover is opened;
+ 12V, GND – are power supply terminals;
NO is a terminal connected to the normally-opened contact
relay;
NC is a terminal connected to the normally-closed contact
relay;
COM is a terminal connected to a common relay contact.
The printed circuit board contains a green and a red indicators
controlling RVC operation and indicating notifications.
5 Information Capacity
Green indicator:
blinks 1 time per 4 s., if the receiver functions properly;
is on during registration of a transmitter in the memory of
the receiver;
blinks 2 times per 1 s. within the period of 4 s – success-
ful registration;
blinks 2 times and switches to blinking 1 time per 4s. –
registration failed.
Red indicator indicates status of relay contacts:
is on when normally-opened (NO) relay contacts are
closed.
The interface line OUT transmits TRC numbers and informa-
tion about the receiver battery discharge.
