FEATURE REFERENCE
The PSR-400 DRUM PADS can be used to record single
drum and percussion notes that can be played at any time sim-
ply by pressing the appropriate pad.
Recording
1.
Press the [PAD ASSIGN ON/OFF] button — the indicator
will light and the last selected PERCUSSION voice (94
through 99) will automatically be selected (any of the other
percussion voices — 94 through 99 — can also be selected
at this point).
2.
Press one of the PAD buttons — [1] through [4] — while
holding the key corresponding to the percussion sound you
want to record. This records the selected percussion sound
in the selected PAD button. The velocity with which the
key is played is also recorded. Continue and record all four
PAD buttons, changing voices (94 — 99) as required.
3.
Press the [PAD ASSIGN ON/OFF] button to exit from the
pad assign mode.

Playback
Simply tap any of the DRUM PADS at any time to play
back the data they contain.
The contents of the DRUM PAD memory are retained in
memory even when the power is turned off (see "PAGE
MEMORY" on page 13 for details).
When a DRUM PAD has been recorded, be sure to store
the new data to a PAGE MEMORY (see page 13). If this
is not done the newly recorded DRUM PAD data will be
lost when a different PAGE MEMORY is selected.
