System Exclusive Messages

The MT-32
accepts
MIDI System
Exclusive messages
from
an
ex-
ternal controller (Keyboard, Computer,
Sequencer
etc.)
Because
the data
format
for
MIDI System
Exclusive messages
varies
from one manufacturer
to another,
this data
format
must
comply
with the specifications designated by Roland when
sent to
the
MT-32.
The MT-32
therefore does not accept System
Exclusive messages
unless
the sequencer
—
whether
it
is
manufactured by Roland
or
not
—
allows the user to
compile
messages
from
keypad,
as
with
the
Roland MC-500.
For

Exclusive
message and data
input
procedures,
refer
to
MIDI implementation
reference.

For
functions that allow access from
the
MT-32's
control pane!
as
well
as
Program Change and
Control
Change
messages, the
MT-
32
retains the settings specified
by
the data
last
received.
