Setting the Exposure (EV Compensation)

The overall brightness of pictures can be changed by adjusting the EV
compensation value (amount of light that the CCD receives). This

changes the exposure automatically determined by the camera when
you want to adjust the brightness of pictures to suite your taste.

Press the MENU button in Capture mode.
The [A Rec.Mode] menu appears.

Use the four-way controller (23)
to select [EV Compensation].

Use the four-way controller (45)
to change the EV setting.
Brightens the picture (overexposed).
+:
Darkens the picture (underexposed).
–:
You can select the EV setting in the range
of –2.0 EV to +2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps.

Press the shutter release button halfway.
The camera is ready for taking pictures.
In Auto Picture mode, the exposure is fixed to ±0.0.
