Press the shutter release button halfway.
The focus frame and the focus status lamp (green) light when the
camera is in focus.

Press the shutter release button completely.
The captured image is displayed on the LCD monitor for 0.5 seconds
(instant review). The captured image is saved to the SD Memory Card
/ MultiMediaCard, or the internal memory (the red lamp next to the
viewfinder blinks while the image is being saved).
Pressing the Shutter Release Button
The shutter release button works in a two-step action.

Pressing halfway

Lightly press (halfway) the shutter release button to lock the focus
position and exposure. The shutter speed and aperture settings appear
only when pressing the shutter release button halfway. The following
information is indicated by the LCD monitor, focus status lamp, and the
flash status lamp.
1. Autofocus area
The frame lights green when focused. It is not displayed when out of focus.
2. Focus status lamp and Flash status lamp
Lit
Blink
You cannot take a picture while the flash is charging.
Pressing down fully
Press the shutter release button all the way down (fully) to take a picture.
Instant Review
The Instant Review setting is the amount of time each image is
displayed immediately after being captured. The default setting is 0.5
second. Pressing the i button during image display when the Instant
Review display time is more than 1 second will display the [Delete]
menu. Select [Delete] and press the OK button to delete the image.
