Are you using the optional USB floppy disk drive (CF-VFDU03)?
Has the floppy disk been correctly inserted?
Has the floppy disk been correctly formatted?
Your floppy disk content may be corrupted.
Is the floppy disk write-protected?
Windows 2000
Select [Format] in [My Computer] - [3 1/2 Floppy (A:)] - [File]. After confirming the
disk volume and format type, start formatting.
Windows XP
Select [Format] in [Start] - [My Computer] - [3 1/2 Floppy (A:)] - [File].
After confirming the disk volume and format type, start formatting.
Your drive or file may not have been properly set.
Check to see if the hard disk is full. If it is full, delete unnecessary files.
Your hard disk content may be corrupted. Contact Panasonic Technical Support.
You may need to clean the lens or disc.
Is the CD drive properly mounted in the multimedia pocket?
Is the disc loaded on the tray correctly?
Is the disc bent, scratched, or dirty?
Is the computer powered on?
To remove a disc when the computer is powered off,
insert a pointed object (e.g., the bent-out tip of a paper
clip, or the tip of a pencil or ballpoint pen) into the
emergency hole (A). Pushing it completely to the end
will free the tray so that it can be pulled out.
(The position of the emergency hole differs depending
on the drive.)
Did you open the CD drive or remove the MPEG disc while it was operating? Re-
insert the MPEG disc and close the CD drive. Press Enter .
Is the disc bent labeled?
Set the [CD Drive Speed] to [Low] in the Setup Utility. (
Did you touch the eject button when you close the tray?
When the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive is replaced after the CD-R/RW drive
has been inserted in the Multimedia Pocket, files inside the drive sometimes cannot
be accessed.
In this case, execute [Scan for hardware changes] using the following procedure.

Select [Device Manager] in [Control Panel] - [Performance and Maintenance] -
[System] - [Hardware].

Select the drive displayed under [DVD/CD-ROM drives] (e.g., MATSHITA****),
then select [Action] - [Uninstall] from the menu and select [OK].

Select [Action] - [Scan for hardware changes] from the menu.
(Microsoft Corp. has reported that the above noted problem occurs.)
Try testing another drive or media.
