5.4. Deleting a file or folder
Milestone 212 allows you to erase files and folders directly without a connection to the
computer. This can be done in one of the following 3 ways:
• Delete one file:
Play the file you would like to erase. While the message is playing, hold down the
"Mode" button and briefly press "Play". The file will be erased when you let go of the
buttons. A message may be erased as well after the replay has stopped.
• Delete files in one direction:
Pause the playback. Pressing the triple-button combination "Mode", "Play" and "Right
arrow" or "Mode", "Play" and "Left arrow" will erase all files in the corresponding
direction, including the file the cursor is on when you push the buttons. The triple-button
combination needs to be pressed for two seconds. A long beep signalizes the start of
erasing. The erasing sound signalizes the end of erasing.
• Delete a folder:
Select the folder you would like to erase. While holding down "Mode", press the "Play"
button for a first time. After 3 seconds confirm erasing by pressing "Play" again. Finally,
let go of the "Mode" button. Please note that deleting an extensive folder may take a
couple of seconds. This process is signaled by a ticking sound before the final erase
sound appears.
