  • Page 2 Thank you for purchasing a pair of Little British Monitors from AudioSmile. Description The LBM is a hand-made high performance active desktop loudspeaker with Bluetooth aptX reception. Matching desktop stands called Little Feet are provided with the LBM that isolate loudspeaker vibration from the support surface for clearer sound.
  • Page 3 Controls and Connection The power adaptor should be connected to the socket labelled ‘DC 30V’. It is a press-fit connection. Only use the supplied adaptor. The LBM power is controlled by the toggle switch labelled ‘On / Off’. The LED is a power indicator. The slave speaker should be linked to the master speaker by the socket labelled ‘Save Speaker’...
  • Page 4 Grilles The LBM grilles are made of reticulated open cell foam which has greater acoustic transparency than fabrics. The choice to use grilles should be a purely aesthetic one. The foam is attached to a thick card frame to maintain shape. The frame is affixed to the loudspeaker front by a small piece of blu-tack at each corner.
  • Page 5 Power Adaptor The LBM power adaptor is a ‘universal’ device that can operate with an input voltage range between 100 Volts -240 Volts. Only the supplied power adaptor should be used with the LBM. Due to the specific circuit design of the LBM, the output of the power adaptor must be electrically floating.
  • Page 6 Bluetooth Operation When the LBM is powered on, the Bluetooth system will enter pairing mode. It will be seen by source devices as ‘LBM’. If the input switch is set to ‘BT’ a voice will report ‘Power on, Pairing’. If a previously paired source device is within range it will connect automatically when the LBM is powered on.
  • Page 7 Switch on Bluetooth. Power on the LBM, input switch set to ‘BT’. Select ‘More Settings’. The device will search for all nearby devices. Select ‘LBM’ to pair. All sound will now be routed to the LBM.
  • Page 8 Change Paired Device – Android The LBM should be powered off for a minimum of 10 seconds to fully discharge. The source device must have Bluetooth turned off, be set to ‘forget’ the LBM, or be out of range. Power on the LBM. When no previously paired source device is available the LBM will automatically enter pairing mode and can be discovered by new devices.
  • Page 9 Select ‘Bluetooth’. Turn on Bluetooth. Power on the LBM, input switch set to ‘BT’. The device will search for all nearby devices. Select ‘LBM’ to pair. All sound will now be routed to the LBM.

  • Page 11 Glossary Active – This means power amplifiers are built into the loudspeaker, one per driver, for ultimate quality. Bluetooth aptX– aptX is a transmission codec developed by CSR for streaming lossless audio content over Bluetooth. Source devices must also support aptX to enable this feature and a list of such devices can be found on the CSR website.
