SEWING A SEAM
Starting a Seam
1. Set stitch length selector for de-
sired number of stitches per
inch .
2. With presser foot up, align fab-
ric with appropriate seam guide-
line on throat plate (as described
on the following page) . Position
needle in fabric about r/. inch
from the edge.
3. Lower presser foot and raise
stitch length selector to reverse.
4. Backstitch to edge of fabric for
reinforcement.
5. Lower stitch length selector for
forward stitching, and stitch .
