This unit features
ALC (Automatic
Level Control)
which
automatically
adjusts the recording
level.
PREPARATION
1. Press the STOP/EJECT
button and insert a cassette.

Press the TUNER function
button.
Press the REC button to start recording.
The PIAY
button is engaged
simultaneously.
During recording, the sound can be monitored through
the speakers. The VOLUME and other controls will not
affect the recording,
Adjust them as desired.
Press the STOP/EJECT
button to stop recording at any
time. When the end of the tape is reached, the tape will
automatically
stop.

Beat cancel switch
(DUBBING
SPEED/BEAT
CANCEL)
When recording
a radio program on the tape, an irritating
beat sound (high pitched tone) may sometimes
be heard.
In this occurs, set the DUBBING SPEED/BEAT
CANCEL
switch to the position that gives the best result.

1. Press the VIDEO function
button. The display shows
"VI dEO".

the instruction
manual provided with the component.
3. Press the REC button to start recording.
Erasing
a tape
To erase a recorded
segment
without
making
a new -
recording,
press the TAPE function
button and operate
the unit in the recording
mode.
NOTE:
Do not operate the TAPE A mechanism
while erasing.
Safeguards
against
accidental
erasure
Whenever
a recording
is made, the sound
previously
recorded
is automatically
erased.
To protect
valuable
recordings
from accidental
erasure, break out the tab(s)
on the back of the cassette with a screwdriver.
To protect side A, break out tab (1). To protect side B,
break out tab (2).
NOTE:
A cassette with the erase guard tabs removed cannot
be erased or used for recording
and the REC button
cannot be depressed.
To record or erase a protected
cassette, cover the tab openings with adhesive tape (3). -
