SoftBank periodically releases firmware updates.

・ Update starts. When complete, handset
powers off and restarts; notification appears.

・ Confirming/downloading updates does not incur
fees.
Note
・ Updates do not incur communications
charges.
・ Updates may take up to approximately 30
Software
minutes. Handset is disabled until update
is completed.
・ Make sure battery is full before updating.
・ Update where the signal is strong, do not
move while updating.
・ While updating, other functions are
unavailable.
・ Always back up important information
(some data such as downloaded files, etc.
may not be backed up). Data saved on
handset before updating remain there, but
in some situations (malfunctions, etc.), data
may be lost. SoftBank Mobile is not liable
for damages from lost information, etc.
・ Do not remove battery and USIM Card. Do
not turn off handset. Update may fail.
・ Update failure may disable handset.
Contact SoftBank Mobile Customer Center,
Customer Assistance (fP.14-29).
・ If updated handset fails to restart, remove
and reinsert battery then power on. If
this fails, call SoftBank Mobile Customer
Center, Customer Assistance (fP.14-29).
