12. Cleaning the device

CAUTION! Be sure to disconnect the USB cable from the computer before undertaking
any cleaning activity.
Do not clean with any solutions or aggressive or scouring cleaning agents, otherwise
the surfaces may become damaged.
Clean the equipment carefully using a soft, dry cloth. Remove stubborn dirt or soiling
by making the cloth slightly damp, but take care to allow no moisture whatsoever to
get into the equipment. Then rub the device completely dry.
To clean the scanner optics, please refer to Section 7 above, "Removing dust from the
scanner optics".

13. Disposal

Dispose of this packaging in the proper manner befi tting the
relevant materials, and in an environmentally responsible manner, at
the collection points provided. Batteries and rechargeable batteries
may not be disposed of with household rubblish/garbage. The
consumer is under a legal obligation to return batteries after use to
local authority collection points or to battery retail outlets. For this
reason, batteries and rechargeable batteries carry the sign shown
opposite.
Disposing of this product correctly:
The sign shown opposite indicates that electrical and electronic
equipment is not permitted to be disposed of together with normal
domestic rubbish/garbage. Please use the return and collection points in your local
authority district or consult the retailer from whom the product was bought. This will
prevent potential detrimental eff ects on the environment and on health arising from
improper disposal.
