Operating the Deafgard Unit.

1. Power
Turning the unit On for the first time or after changing batteries.
Depress Button 1 ON/OFF to turn the listening circuitry on. The listening circuits will
remain active now until the unit is manually switched Off.
The LCD will also flash to inform the user that the time needs to be set. The LCD will
flash for 30 seconds.
Turning the unit On when in passive mode (batteries installed and time set).
Depress Button 1 ON/OFF to turn the listening circuitry on. The listening circuits will
remain active now until the unit is manually switched Off. The LCD will be illuminated
to display the time.
Turning the unit Off
Depress Button 1 ON/OFF for more than 3 seconds to turn the LCD and listening
circuits off. If the time has been set, the internal timer will continue to run despite the
unit being turned Off.
2. Time Set
The time should be set after inserting batteries.
Note: The clock is a 24-hour clock.
1. To set time depress Button 2 TIME SET for more than a second. The LCD hour
numerals will now flash.
2. To change the hour numerals, tap Button 3 INCREMENT. Each time you tap this
button the hour numeral will increase by 1. If you continuously hold this button down
the hour shown will increase until you release the button.
3. When you have set the clock to the desired hour, depress Button 2 TIME SET until
the minute numerals on the LCD flash.
4. Repeat step 2 to set the minutes.
5. Once the hours and minutes have been set to the desired time, depress Button 2
TIME SET until the LCD ceases to flash. The unit is now primed to listen for your fire
alarm.
