Use 18 gauge, color-coded thermostat cable for
proper wiring.

subbase screw s.
5. Level th e subbase b y u sin g a sp irit level. Firm ly
tig h te n subbase m o u n tin g screw s. See Fig . 3 . The
subbase m o u n tin g holes p ro vid e fo r m in o r o u t-o f­
level ad justm ents.
IMPORTANT
A n incorrectly leveled subbase causes the
temperature control to deviate from setpoint.

Wiring the Subbase

A ll w irin g m u st com p ly w ith lo cal electrical codes and
ordinances. Fo llo w eq uip m ent m anufacturer w irin g
in stru ctio n s w hen available. To w ire subbase, p roceed as
fo llo w s:
1 . Connect th e system w ires to th e subbase. See F ig .

2. Firm ly tig h te n each term in al screw .
3. Fit w ires as close as possible to th e subbase. Push
excess w ire back in to th e h o le.
4. Plug th e h o le w ith n o n flam m ab le in su latio n to
p reven t d rafts fro m affectin g th e th erm o stat.
