Servicing the Engine Oil

Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Check the
engine-oil level.
After the first 8 hours—Change the engine oil.
Every 100 hours—Change the engine oil. (more often
in dirty or dusty conditions)
Every 200 hours—Change the engine-oil filter.
Note: Change the oil more frequently when the operating
conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
Note: There are different oil capacities for the different
models listed in this manual. Ensure that the correct amount
of oil is used.
Important: Remember to add 80% of the oil, and then
gradually fill it to the Full mark on the dipstick.
Oil Type:: Detergent oil (API service SF, SG, SH, SJ or SL)
Engine Oil Capacity: 2.1 L (71 oz) with the filter removed;
1.8 L (61 oz) without the filter removed
Viscosity: Refer to the table below.
Checking the Engine-Oil Level
Note: Check the oil when the engine is cold.
WARNING
Contact with hot surfaces may cause personal
injury.
Keep hands, feet, face, clothing and other body
parts away the muffler and other hot surfaces.
Important: Do not overfill the crankcase with oil,
because damage to the engine may result. Do not run
engine with oil below the Low mark, because the engine
may be damaged.
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion-control levers to
the neutral-locked position, and set the parking brake.

2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position

Changing the Engine Oil
Note: Dispose of the used oil at a recycling center.
1. Park the machine so that the drain side is slightly
lower than the opposite side to assure the oil drains
completely.
