A further key attached to
the same ring as the igni-
tion key used to start the engine
could "irritate" the electronics,
in which case the enabling sig-
nal for starting is not issued. The
! EWS
warning is shown in the
multifunction display.
Always store further vehicle keys
separately from the ignition key.
If you lose an ignition key, you
can have it disabled by your
BMW Motorrad partner. When
having a key disabled you should
also bring all of the motorcycle's
remaining keys with you.
The engine can no longer be
started using a disabled key;
however, a disabled key can be
enabled again.
Replacement and spare keys are
only available through an autho-
rized BMW Motorrad retailer.
The keys are part of an inte-
grated security system, so the
retailer is under an obligation to
check the legitimacy of all ap-
plications for replacement/extra
keys.

Anti-theft alarm system

Activation takes approximately
30 seconds to complete.
Turn indicators are illuminated

Alarm signal
The duration of the alarm signal

onds. A triggered alarm signal
can be interrupted at any time by
pressing the button 1 of the re-
mote control. This function does
not change the state of the anti-
theft alarm system.
During the alarm, an alarm signal
sounds and the turn indicators
flash. The type of alarm signal
can be programmed.
