    After you complete any replacement procedure, ensure you connect any external devices, cards, and cables before turning on your computer. CAUTION: To avoid damage to the computer, use only the battery designed for this particular Dell computer. Do not use batteries designed for other Dell computers.

Connect any telephone or network cables to your computer. CAUTION: To connect a network cable, first plug the cable into the network device and then plug it into the computer.

Remove the screw that secures the optical drive and slide it out of the drive bay. Remove the screws that secure the optical-drive bracket to the optical-drive assembly. Remove the optical-drive bracket from the optical-drive assembly.

    Installing the Optical-Drive Assembly Place the optical-drive bezel on the optical drive and snap it in place. Place the optical-drive bracket in to the optical drive. Tighten the screws to secure the bracket to the optical-drive assembly. Slide the optical-drive assembly into the drive bay in the computer. Tighten the screw to secure the optical-drive assembly to the computer.
