STEP 1:
If detergents have been used, remove
detergent suction tube from container and
insert into 1 gallon of fresh water.
Siphon water at low pressure for one
minute to clear the line of residual deter-
gent.
STEP 2:
Move the engine stop switch to the OFF
position. Close the fuel valve.
STEP 3:
Turn off the water source.
STEP 4:
Press trigger to release water pressure.
It is highly recommended to use Kärcher's
Pump Guard (part number 9.558-998.0)
before winter storage and during the
cleaning season to protect the pump from
freezing and premature wear.
STEP 1:
Turn engine switch to the OFF position
STEP 2:
Disconnect all hoses.
STEP 3:
Unscrew cap from Pump Guard bottle.
STEP 4:
Remove internal seal.
STEP 5:
Reattach cap to Pump Guard bottle and
remove black protective cap.
Kärcher pump
Initial Use
All Kärcher pumps ship with oil already inside
direct from the factory. There is no need to
add oil.
Pump Inspection
You should routinely make a visual inspec-
tion of the pressure washer's pump. If you
notice oil leaking around the pump seals, you
should take the pressure washer to a Kärcher-
Authorized Service Center for repair. (You can

STEP 5:
Release trigger and engage gun safety
lock.
STEP 6:
Disconnect the garden hose from the water
inlet on the unit.
STEP 7:
Disconnect the high pressure hose from
the high pressure outlet. Store the high
pressure hose in the hose holder assem-
bly.
STEP 6:
Screw bottle into water inlet on pressure
washer pump and squeeze.
STEP 7:
With ignition OFF, pull starter rope until
fl uid starts to exit.
STEP 8:
Unscrew bottle. Store or dispose properly.
CAUTION
Failure to follow the above directions may
result in damage to the pump assembly and
accessories and void the warranty.

Pump Maintenance
Change oil after fi rst 50 hours of operation and
then every 200 hours or 3 months, wichever
occurs fi rst. When changing pump oil use only
high quality nondetergent 30 weight oil. Use
no special additives.
Engine
Carry out maintenance tasks for the engine
according to the specifi cations provided in
the operating instructions provided by engine
manufacturer.
