Lubrication
Lubricating the Pivot Arms
Service Interval: Every 50 hours
After every 50 operating hours or when the season ends,
lubricate the pivot arms.
1. Move the rear wheel cutting height levers to the
center setting.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug (Figure 10).
3. Drain the gasoline from the fuel tank; refer to
Emptying the Fuel Tank and Cleaning the Fuel Filter.
4. Tip the mower onto its right side.
5. Wipe the grease fittings with a clean rag (Figure 19).
Note: The grease fittings are located near the rear
wheels.

6. Install a grease gun onto the fitting and gently apply 2
or 3 pumps of #2 multi-purpose lithium base grease.
Important: Excessive grease pressure may
damage the seals.
7. Return the mower to its operating position.
8. Close the fuel valve and fill the fuel tank with
gasoline.
9. Connect the wire to the spark plug.
Lubricating the Gear Case
Service Interval: Every 50 hours
After every 50 operating hours, grease the gear case.
1. Remove the grass bag.
2. Remove the gear case access cover.
3. Install a grease gun onto the fitting through the gear
case access opening (Figure 20).

4. Gently apply one to 2 pumps of #2 multi-purpose
lithium-base grease.
5. Install the grass bag.
