LLDP Configuration
The following section describes the configuration procedure for enabling LLDP on Extreme Summit x440 series
switches.
Log into the EXTREME Summit x440 series switch using serial console and enter following configuration:

configure lldp port 11 advertise port‐description
configure lldp port 11 advertise system‐name
configure lldp port 11 advertise system‐capabilities
configure lldp port 11 advertise management‐address
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific dot1 port‐vlan‐id
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific dot3 mac‐phy
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific dot3 power‐via‐mdi
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific med capabilities
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific dot1 port‐protocol‐vlan‐id vlan voice
configure lldp port 11 advertise vendor‐specific med policy application voice vlan voice dscp 46
VLAN Configuration
The following section describes configuration procedure for creating default and voice VLAN on EXTREME
switches. This Application Note assumes Switch uplink is further connected to layer 3 device which will take
care of routing or any other services like DHCP.
1. Log into the Extreme Summit switch using serial console and enter following commands to create vlan.
Following example is for voice vlan:
create vlan "voice"
configure vlan voice tag 3
configure vlan voice add ports 1‐22 tagged
configure vlan Default ipaddress 10.40.12.3 255.255.255.0
enable ipforwarding vlan Default
2. Configure dhcp relay by executing following commands:
configure bootprelay add 10.40.12.11 vr VR‐Default
enable bootprelay ipv4 vlan data
enable bootprelay ipv4 vlan Default
enable bootprelay ipv4 vlan voice
configure bootprelay vlan Default add 10.40.12.11
configure bootprelay vlan data add 10.40.12.11
configure bootprelay vlan voice add 10.40.12.11
QOS Configuration
The following section describes the configuration procedure for enabling QOS on Extreme Summit x440 series
switches.
Log into the EXTREME switch and execute following commands to enable QOS:

create qosprofile "QP4"
create qosprofile "QP6"
configure diffserv examination code‐point 24 qosprofile QP4
